When my daughter, now 4, was diagnosed with life-threatening food allergies just before her first birthday, we were shocked. In our family we have dealt with mild allergies in the past, but nothing as severe as this. We started doing research and looking into potential causes of severe food allergies. Out of the research came a strong possibility that the chemicals and toxins in our environment could have contributed to the recent rise of these childhood illnesses like food allergies, asthma and autism. We started cleaning out our environment by eating organically and using organic cleaning products and detergents. Soon we decided that we wanted to help others live a green lifestyle as well. We started making products that would be useful, beautiful and eco-friendly. Each and every one of our products is made from 100% certified organic cotton fabrics and yarns, and all of our colored fabrics have been dyed with either organic, low-impact, or vegetable-based dyes and inks. We also try and use the most eco-friendly notions we can find, so if there is organic thread available in the color we need, we use it! Once you start going green, and you see the wonderful impact it has on your life and the rest of the world, it becomes a snowball effect. Personally, we are constantly expanding our use of organic products in our home and trying to find ways to be kinder and gentler to our environment. We have the same idea when it comes to our business. Continuous research of products and materials is being done to provide our customers with truly environmentally friendly options.
